General

1. How can I enter the OSD MENU?

  1. A, Under working mode, press the MENU key on the IR remote controller, to enter the OSD menu
  2. B, After entering the main menu, use the navigate UP/DOWN key to select the main menu. Once been selected, the main menu will change to blue background, and the right side will show all sub menu options.
  3. C, Press the navigate RIGHT key to enter sub menu; use UP/DONW key to select the sub menu; use the LEFT/RIGHT key to select parameter.
  4. D, Press the MENU key again to return to previous menu. Press the MENU key continuously to exit the OSD menu.

2. What is the PoE Standard for the PTZ cameras?

This technology is especially useful for powering IP Cameras and PTZ Cameras.

Our POE for PTZ cameras is IEEE 802.3at. A single cable to realize power, video, control and Tally for the camera.

3. Can I use PTZ cameras on Ethernet network?

Networking options like optical cables are expensive and often not accessible by everyone. This is why many people choose to connect their PTZ cameras with their Ethernet connection. With the addition of a few devices like switchers, connectors, and encoders to enhance performance.

4. How many times zoom should I choose?

A, Our 12X optical zoom PTZ has a standard FOV of around 80°. When zoomed in, you will only get around 12° FOV, making this camera best for ranges up to 70ft.

B, Our 20X optical zoom PTZ has a standard FOV of 66°. When zoomed in, the camera narrows to 4°, perfectly capturing details up to 130ft.

C, Our 30X optical zoom PTZ has the most zoom out of all PTZs. With a standard FOV of 59°. When fully zoomed, you get a narrow FOV of 1.9°, perfect for details up to 180ft!

5. How can I install a Telycam PTZ camera?

Wall Mounted – Wall-mounted PTZ cameras can offer eye-level views of large outdoor spaces. To mount it on a wall, screw the base to the wall, or you can even use a junction box.

Ceiling Mounted – Ceiling mounts should be done the same as the wall mounts. The wiring can be a bit tricky, but by finding the right power outlets and controllers, one can easily install a PTZ camera.

Tripod Mounted – Tripod mounts have to be done safely as the cameras need to be mounted on a tripod rather than a wall. From this angle, a PTZ camera will offer a great angle that will be perfect to view and observe crowds.

1. No Image from USB

A, Please confirm if the power supply is connected well and reboot configuration is normal, and whether the power indicator light is on;

B, If it is powered by USB, please make sure the power supply is stable (desktop is recommended to use the USB port behind the cabinet) ;

C, Please make sure the USB device (camera device) is in the Device Manager.

D, If an extension cable is added, please ensure the compatibility of the extension cable (first remove the extension cable, then use the factory standard USB cable for verification) ;

E, Please ensure that only one software is using with the camera;

F, Please do not switch the video resolution while using the USB device manually;

G, Some anti-virus software may prevent the master computer from accessing the camera, please open the option of allowing the program to call the camera in the anti-virus software;

H, Please check whether the bottom dip switch is in normal working mode;

I, Check whether the wire is damaged and the USB connection port is plugged steadily;

J, Replace the USB port of the PC or PC to retest.

2. HDMI/SDI output without images

A, Please confirm if the power supply is connected well and reboot configuration is normal, and whether the power indicator light is on;

B, Please check whether the wire is damaged, or the wire connection port is plugged steadily;

C, Please check whether the bottom dip switch is in normal working mode;

D, Ensure the resolution of the camera output is supported in the display or monitor (most HDMI/SDI monitors do not support 720P30 or less resolution, you can press the remote control to switch the video format) ;

E, If the extension line is used, please ensure the compatibility;

F, For some models of multi-interface devices, if USB is also used, the image resolution will be reset by the USB end, may lead to HDMI/SDI no image ouput, please note the interface output logic.

3. The image is unstable

A, check whether the wire is damaged or whether the wire connection is inserted steadily;

B, If the extension line is used, please ensure the compatibility.

4. The image color is not normal

A, check whether the wire is damaged or the wire connection is inserted steadily;

B, If the extension line is used, please ensure the compatibility;;

C, Enter into the menu, reset all the image parameters or through the serial port, network control methods to reset the image parameters.

5. The remote doesn’t work

A, Please check if the remote control battery is insufficient;

B, Please check when the signal is sent by the remote control, if the remote control indicator light whether red light;

C, Please check whether the infrared signal of the camera is interfered with other equipment (If the light of the front panel of the camera automatically flashes when the remote control is not used, the flashing indicates that there is other infrared signal interference, please check the source of the infrared interference, or use the cardboard at the bottom of the camera for infrared isolation);

D, Please check the address of the remote control and the camera address is matched;   

E, When the camera is in menu mode, the remote controller cannot control the camera;

F, check whether the bottom dial switch is in normal working mode.

6. The web page cannot be logged in

A, Please check whether the network connection is good (network port yellow light flashing indicates that the network connection is normal)  

B, Please check that the computer and camera are in the same network segment (if not, add the camera segment or change the camera’s IP segment through the menu)   

C, Please make sure the user name and password of the camera are correct;

D, Please check whether the remote control the camera PTZ, to make sure whether the camera hardware is good or bad.

7. Can't find IP address, even with "Search Tool"

A, Turn off the firewall, then use “Search Tool” to search again;

B, Use the same switch and add on the same network section as the camera in your computer. Or change the camera into DHCP then restart to assign IP address automatically;

C, Power failure when the camera is upgraded will cause the camera cannot search for the IP address and no picture.

8. Camera is not detected via USB

A, Please check whether the cable is good.

B, Please whether the computer USB interface is good.

C, Please check whether the camera USB interface is good.

D, Please switch another camera to see whether it can be detected.

9. No image but blue screen output.

A, Please check ifthe monitor or display can support the video format;

B, Restart the camera. If the camera doesn’t finish the configurationafter power-on and shows a blue screen, the dial switch is set wrongly.

C, Please confirm if the PTZ can be controlled.

D, If the WebUI image can display, please contact with us for upgrading ARM or FPGA firmware;if the WEB UI also shows a blue screen, there might be problems with the ISP program.

10. What is the light indicator on the front of the camera?

The red, green, and blue indicator light on the front of the camera is the tally light. The indicator light can work as Tally when receive tally notification from the NDI® devices, to show the live is on or off.

11. How quiet are the motor mechanics?

1. How can I control my Telycam PTZ camera?

One of the biggest advantages of using a PTZ camera is the feature of controlling the camera using different methods.

IR remote control – The simplest and easiest way to control a PTZ camera is to use an infrared (IR) remote controller. These remotes are provided along with the camera – one disadvantage of using this controller is that the camera cannot be moved quickly and precisely.

Joystick controller – While connecting a joystick with PTZ cameras, one can control them with clear precision. It is easy to use a joystick – by moving the joystick or by using the direction keys, the camera can be positioned in desired positions.

Control Software – There are a variety of excellent software and apps that help in connecting a PTZ camera to the local area network. One can also connect multiple cameras and control them all with the software.

Hardware Controllers – Hardware controllers are often provided with the purchase of a PTZ security camera, but one can also find third-party devices available in the market. These can even be used to control multiple cameras at the same time.

2. Can I set the PTZ speeds?

Sure, you can set PTZ speeds at OSD MENU-PTZ setting-PT speed/ ZOOM speed. 

You can also set the preset ptz speed:

The “Preset PT Speed” will adjust the speed of preset movement for Pan and Tilt only

The “Pre Zoom Speed” will adjust the speed of preset movement for the Zoom level only.

3. How can I set preset?

Set preset: long press (3 seconds) the number key to set preset.

Run preset: Short press the number key to run preset.

When you want to clear the preset just press the “CLR+PRE” button and adds the number key you want to clear the relative preset CLR PRE+ number key: to clear the relative preset. Long press to clear all presets.

4. Serial port cannot be controlled

A, Please check if the cable is from the factory, if it is the self-made cable, please ensure the correctness of the line sequence;

B, Please make sure that the device protocol, baud rate, address, and device are consistent (shown on the menu);

C, Please check whether the bottom dial switch is in normal working mode;

D, Please make sure the wire is stable and reliable.

5. Keyboard can not control

A, Please make sure the keyboard protocol matches the camera protocol (Visca, Visca over IP, onvif, NDI, etc.);

B, Please make sure the protocol parameters match the camera protocol parameters (baud rate, device address, IP address, DNS, etc.);

C, If it is network control, make sure the IP address of the keyboard and the IP address of the camera are in the same network segment;

D, If it is network control, make sure the keyboard port is the same as the camera port.

6. How can I pull up the OSD menu of my camera from ptz contorl keyboard?

The keyboard comes with a display screen. If you need to open the OSD menu of your camera using the ptz control keyboard Just press the menu key, and the OSD menu will be displayed directly on the LED screen. You can set whatever you want.

 

7. If I set a preset using the remote control, can I call that preset from the webUI?

Yes, you are able to set a preset from the IR Remote and recall that same preset from the WebUI.

These operations also work in reverse allowing you to set a preset from the WebUI and recall from the IR Remote.

C. Short press the number key to set the corresponding parameters. After setting the current parameters, press the “MENU” key again to complete the current parameter setting;

D. To exit the menu, just press the “MENU” key again.

3. How do I set my camera to obtain a DHCP IP address?

A. Press “MENU” to open the menu interface, select “network parameters” in the menu to call up the IP setting interface:

C. After setting the current parameters, press the “MENU” key again to complete the current parameter setting;

D. To exit the menu, just press the “MENU” key again.

 

WEBUI

You can log in into WEBUI, Click “Setting” to enter into parameter setting——“Ethernet” includes DHCP mode, IP address, Netmask, Gateway, HTTP Port, RTSP Port, and Visca Over IP.

4. How to find the IP address of the camera?/How to change parameters of Telycam IP camera

If your computer cannot connect to the camera, there are several ways to find the camera IP address:

 

IR Remote Controller——MENU

A. You can plug an HDMI or SDI cable into the back of the camera and plug the other end into the monitor.

B. Use the IR remote control to enter the menu, select the “Network Parameters” option in the menu, and bring up the IP setting interface, you can find the IP address of the camera.

C. Navigate the up and down keys to select the parameters to be set, and then select the address, subnet mask, gateway, etc. in turn; short press the number keys to set the corresponding parameters.

 

Search Tool

You can use the search tool to find cameras on the same network segment. It will scan your current network and see if it can detect the camera.

A. Open the Search Tool, click [Sesrch], and search for the target camera.

B. Click the Settings button on the target camera.

C. The IP address of the target camera can be manually modified.

5. How to switch NDI PTZ cameras on ZOOM

NDI stream is converted to a virtual camera via Webcam Input.

A. Power up one camera, connect it to the cable and USB cable and wait for the camera to complete its self-test.

B. Open the NDI tool, then click on Studio Monitor to see the camera NDI device name and its image.

C. Open the NDI tools then tap on one of the Webcam Inputs, a thumbnail icon will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen, right-click on the small icon and select the NDI device name for this camera.

D. Open Zoom and join a meeting, the camera can choose a USB device or NDI virtual camera.

E. Right-click the small icon of Webcam Input in the lower right corner of the screen, and select different NDI devices to switch between different conference video screens.

6. How to add PTZ camera to OBS Studio.

Add your camera as a source in OBS.

 

1. If you are using a local device such as a USB camera, an SDI/HDMI capture card,

  a. Select “Video Capture Device”

  b. Select “Create New” and name the source

  c. Press “OK”. 

  d. Select your video source in the drop-down and hit “OK”. This should make your video source appear in the Preview window.

 

2. If you are pulling in RTSP video:

  a. Press this Plus (+) sign and select “Media Source”.

  b. Select “Create New” and name this source

  c. press “OK”.

  d. Uncheck the box that says “Local File”. This should make the box called “Input” to appear. The input box type in rtsp address.
